Multiple Sources of Solar High-energy Protons

Abstract During the 24th solar cycle, Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT) has observed a total of 27 flares possessing delayed ? -ray emission, including exceptionally well-observed flare and coronal mass ejection (CME) on 2017 September 10. Based Fermi/LAT data, we plot, for first time, maps possible sources >100 MeV emission 10 event. The long-lasting is localized under CME core. spectrum exhibits intermittent changes in implying that more than one source high-energy protons was formed during flare–CME eruption. We find good statistical correlation between fluences Fermi/LAT-observed events products corresponding speed square root soft X-ray magnitude. Data support idea both CMEs jointly contribute to production subrelativistic relativistic near Sun.

It is shown that the region of inelastic collisions has a very peculiar shape. It saturates for central collisions at an energy of 7 TeV.
